Idolatry: Improper Theology

Idolatry is a sin that has its beginning in the mind, in your thoughts, beliefs, judgments, and imagination. Asaph rebuked the Israelites because they had created a god in their own image: ‘you thought that I was just like you’ (Ps. 50:21). Incorrect thinking about God’s character breeds idolatry. […] The only way that we can avoid the sin of idolatry is by immersing ourselves in Spirit-enlightened study of God through the Scripture.”
