Gold: A Yellow Man

"We pretty much aim to glorify God in everything we do, so music is pretty much just a subordinate. In every area of our lives we aim to be yellow and reflect Christ."

Poem: Promises

Your promises are
pearls
adorning my neck
held together by
the unbreakable scarlet
string
dipped in the
blood of Your Son.

The Cross and Criticism

"If you find it difficult to take criticism, it's because you haven't believed what the cross says about you. The cross is the most blatant statement of criticism ever displayed. It says that you deserve to die. You deserve to be stripped naked and humiliated and then to receive the righteous wrath of God for all eternity. That's what we all deserve. But we have been given grace, forgiveness, and relationship with him. You would need to defend yourself from criticism only if you didn't have a Savior who loved sinners. If you are defensive, you are missing the gospel."

"Afflictions are God's threshing instruments to loosen us from the world, to part between us and our chaff, and to prepare us for use. God will proportion them to our strength; they shall be no heavier than there is need. When his end is answered, the trials and sufferings of his people shall cease; his wheat shall be gathered into the garner, but the chaff shall be burned with unquenchable fire."
- Matthew Henry (commentary on Isaiah 28:23-29)
